rushbrooke
rowing club is one of the oldest around
and
celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.
the
original club was destroyed in the late 60’s
when
the old wooden club house and boats
were
engulfed by a fire.
in
1989 local residents decided to restart the club
and
agreed on using the ‘yawl’ class racing boat.
on
completion of the clubs first boat, ‘THE
christopher
G’ in 1990, rushbrooke won its first
gold
all
at the camber in
Since
then the club has gone from strength to
strength
and continues to grow. we proudly
hosted
the
2004
and 2009, and still find the time to get
involved
in charitable causes both locally
and
nationally.
