RUSHBROOKE ROWING CLUB

                             1989 - 2009

rushbrooke rowing club is one of the oldest around

and celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.

the original club was destroyed in the late 60’s

when the old wooden club house and boats

were engulfed by a fire.

in 1989 local residents decided to restart the club

and agreed on using the ‘yawl’ class racing boat.

on completion of the clubs first boat, ‘THE

christopher G’ in 1990, rushbrooke won its first

gold all ireland medal thanks to our under 12’s

at the camber in cobh.

Since then the club has gone from strength to

strength and continues to grow. we proudly

hosted the county finals on two ocassions in

2004 and 2009, and still find the time to get

involved in charitable causes both locally

and nationally.
